Join a Compost Co-op:
Joining one of LA Compost’s Co-ops gives you access to a community of composters, flexible food scrap drop off access, as well as finished compost when it is ready.
Where: Throughout LA County.
When: Twice per year, varies by location.
Compost access: Members are notified via email when their co-op’s compost is ready for pickup.
Farmers’ Market Distributions:
Meet us at the market! At the start of every season, we distribute small amounts of free compost to the community to support plants and gardens.
Where: Participating farmers’ markets.
When: Four times per year, at the start of each season.
Compost access: Stay updated on Instagram for announcements and reminders on distributions or view the Events Calendar.
Regional Hub Compost Distributions:
It’s as easy as signing up, showing up, and sift! Bring your own container to take home locally-created compost, sifted by you!
What is sifting?: Sifting is the process of moving finished compost through a fine mesh sifter so it becomes a finer product ready for mixing with soil or adding to plants.
Where: LA Compost Regional Compost Hubs
When: Monthly at a rotation of sites.
