Drop off at a compost hub

Community Hubs are shared spaces in gardens, schools, parks, places of worship and places of work. These hubs are available for food scrap drop off, compost education and hands on learning. There is no cost or requirement to join other than receiving the proper instructions from LA Compost and being a mindful and respectful steward of the space.

Drop off at a farmer’s Market

We’re proud to partner with several LA Farmer’s Markets to offer a compost drop off at the market. You don’t need to sign up to participate, simply collect acceptable compostable items in a reusable container, bring them to the farmer’s market of your choosing, and weigh and record your scraps at the table.

Atwater Village Farmers Market || Every Sunday 10am-2pm

Los Feliz Farmers Market || Every 1st & 3rd Sunday 9am-1pm

join a compost co-op

We’re piloting a new model for community composting at several compost hubs across LA. Compost co-ops require members to sign an agreement before joining and volunteer at the site to continue their membership. At this time there is no monetary cost for joining. Advantages of joining a Compost Co-Op are 24/7 access to the space and access to a community of fellow composters.
