LA Compost hosts a group volunteer experience to highlight the full story of food in Los Angeles, from rescue to table and from compost to soil. Rescue to Resource is a 4 hour volunteer activity day aimed for schools and corporate groups where participants follow the story of food through 3 agencies working together to redistribute edible food and return inedible food back to the soil.

goals:

  • Demonstrate how rescued food can be turned into a resource (healthy soil) for communities.

  • Highlight the work of each partner involved.

  • Activate stakeholders & volunteers through hands on engagement.
