The Atwater Village community and compost drop off members are invited to see where and how your food scraps get turned into healthy soils!

About this Event

Should I attend?

If you have been dropping your food scraps off at the Atwater Village Farmer's Market and have wondered where they go or how they get processed. You should attend! If you are generally interested in learning more about composting, you should attend too!

What will we do?

Activities will include, an introduction to composting. aerating the compost pile, adding new, material to the pile, sifting finished material, feeding & harvesting worm castings.

What should I bring?

Please wear clothing you don't mind getting dirty. Wear closed toed shoes and a hat if you're sensitive to sun. Bring a reusable water bottle, there will be a water refill station onsite.

We encourage attendees to bring food scraps to be composted.

Are kids allowed?

Yes, please include the number of children you'll be bringing in your registration. Activities will be geared towards all ages for parents and children to participate together, there will be no children specific activities.
